I can't seem to add a picture to my Facebook posts, when I click the attachment button, it doesnt have a profile to select?

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out to us!

The reason you were having this issue is because HootSuite requires a Twitter profile to host your image uploads and you may not have added one when you were trying to upload an image before, although I can see you have added one to your dashboard now.

Owly is a Twitter based service and what HootSuite uses for image hosting. When posting images to Facebook, you will still be required to select your Twitter profile when your image is first uploaded. After the upload, the image will not be posted to your Twitter profile unless you choose it from the social network selector to the right hand side of the compose box. If Facebook is the only profile selected here, that is the only profile the image will be posted to in the end.

If it needs a twitter profile to attach images, then why doesn't the on screen prompt say so? Why does it keep saying that no social profile is selected? I almost signed up with Sprout Social for a much higher fee until I came across this article. You guys have a great suite. Please update the prompt to what the system really needs, instead of frustrating users with a misleading message. Thank you.

This is incredibly frustrating... I've been trying to figure it out for a long time. I even added my Twitter profile and still don't have it figured out.

I just got it figured out but I really agree that this should have been changed a long time ago. I have hundreds of profiles in there so how was I to know that I needed to add a twitter account? Make things simpler for people to use and you'll have more long term customers.

I have been trying to upload an image to a facebook group via hootsuite, but when I finish uploading it , the image was not shown, the only thing that it appear was the the link that linked with the image from owly and a thumbnail. I am trying to have a full size image to be posted on the facebook group. What do u suggest I could do?

There is no answer to Ringo Cheung's comment from three months ago. I'm also having the same problem so perhaps by posting again, it will nudge a support personnel to answer the question.

This looks like it could be a small issue, especially regarding UTM's and tracking analytics from different social media outlets. I usually use a unique UTM for each social media outlet so that i can track them in google analytics. If i have to post the same message to multiple outlets, then my tracking goes out the door! Still loving my some HootSuite though...

Hi everyone!

Facebook's API (the way HootSuite "plugs into" Facebook) limits the way some of your content will post from HootSuite. Currently, full size images can be displayed when posting to Facebook personal profiles or pages; until the API allowances are changed, I'm afraid images posted to Facebook groups are limited to links with associated thumbnails.

For now, feel free to follow this as a feature request here! Voting in our feedback forum will ensure you're notified as soon as we have an update on this front.

When I try to post a message with a picture to both my Twitter and Facebook accounts, Hootsuite gives me an error message about the Facebook post.  Something about setting the permissions on Facebook.  I've logged in using the pop-up box, and clicked the box to change the settings, but it still doesn't work.  Help!
